WHO WE ARE
TASHANA is a start-up charitable trust formally instituted in December 2020. The organization works from the heart, offering compassionate welfare services to community dogs through daily feeding, medical assistance including vaccination & sterilization, and looking for possible homing options.
Philosophy
Peaceful cohabitation between humans and community animals with emphasis on respect for dignity of life of all beings.
Purpose of Establishment
TASHANA, acronym for The Abode of Hope to Support and Nurture Animals, named after the founder’s pet companion, Tasha.

“Being an animal lover since childhood, the lockdown period compelled me to go back to what I have held close to my heart. And so began the journey of TASHANA by nurturing few community dogs since the lockdown with daily feeding, Vaccinations, medical assistance when required, sterilization, adoption searches. In the process of looking after these street dogs since last year, a group of children belonging to the nearby community have never missed a day along with me to come and feed them. Slowly a close association has been formed and they have become an integral part of this community of compassion that has been built through Tashana!”

Vision & Mission
Creating a community of compassionate coexistence between humans and community animals wherein the rights of life of every sentient being is respected by all as laid out by the Constitution of India.

In the long run, we aim to propose to local authorities/ RWAs that every jurisdiction in a locality creates a local animal welfare center which works together with volunteers in ensuring that community animals are taken care of – with food, medical assistance. In addition to this, these centers would also ensure animal birth control/ vaccinations to limit their numbers and cases of disease/ dog bites.

TASHANA also intends to enable education/ skill development of underprivileged children belonging to the local communities/ areas where we actively work for the welfare of dogs & provide opportunities for gainful employment/ engagement to people who come from walks of life that is lesser privileged.

We aim to create a regular stream of dedicated and diligent volunteers who would enable the continuity of the vision/ mission of TASHANA through their active support.
