Volunteer Projects
The first official TASHANA volunteer team of young and dedicated college students was our first step into creating a team of like-minded individuals, who worked on different projects we had in mind towards setting the foundational projects and objectives we had marked out.
The students did their part by feeding animals around their localities, placing water bowls, helping in administrative work – creating expense reports, a database of important contacts/ helpline numbers for animal issues, and compiling laws and legislations set by the government to protect animals and animal volunteers.

One of the major projects of the volunteer team was to conduct a brief programme with our community kids (“woof warriors”, who help us in feeding the dogs every day) by educating them about the laws that exist to protect the rights of animals and animal feeders – laws regarding their feeding, medical care, irresponsible displacement from territories, cruelty, etc. It ended with narrating a short story with a moral of displaying kindness and empathy towards all living beings. They were all so glad to be part of this session, enjoyed the snacks they were given and shared with us what they learned! We hope this initiative makes them more aware and responsible children, who will know their rights and those of their furry friends, and spread this knowledge along!
