The Launch of this Website

As I celebrate another year of life, I am happy to share the website of TASHANA…my dream!

With this launch, I feel TASAHANA is now in a space where I can proudly talk about this short journey of a lifetime of this dream which was somewhere clouded by all the strife of a day to day life... But at this point, I can look back and be grateful for my life experiences which have enabled me to transform this dream into a living reality today!

It has been a lot of hard work and a lot of heartaches since June 2020, when I finally could not turn away from the helpless eyes and wagging tails of the dogs left all alone on the streets trying to find small morsels of food from wherever possible during the first lockdown. But nonetheless, it has been one of the most rewarding journeys of my life. And this would not have been possible without all the support from each member of my family and the silent support of friends and bystanders along the way!

In these 2 years, I have learned, loved, and lost….. Learned through experience – difficult ones, how to carry on looking after all needs of food, water, medical exigencies, and sterilizations of community dogs.

Loved so many dogs and still feel I can embrace so many more with love and affection.

And the hardest part was that of Loss…. Losing some of my dogs along the way has been very difficult and coping with it silently to carry on for those who continue to wait for me, even more so.

I cannot miss out on the mention of the community children from the nearby localities who have been part of this journey of mine! From little kids hanging around on the side seeing me feed puppies and dogs, are today the TASHANA warriors! There has not been a single day when I have been alone in my feeding drives, because these kids are always around me and around our dogs. The Vision of creating a Community of Compassion began with this association and I hope and pray and believe, that it will embrace more along the way!

And lastly, this website has been made possible because of the efforts of my daughter, Myrrene and one of TASHANA’s first volunteers, Vishal. These two have been the hand and mind behind this website and so, I would like to thank both Myrrene and Vishal for their endearing efforts and support. My daughter especially knows my heart and mind and encourages me through her efforts. She is also the one who handles the TASHANA’s Volunteer Programme & the Outreach Programmes.

On the other hand, my son, Rayan has been the silent one who accompanies us as the chauffeur and the one who ensures discipline in the pack of dogs when required, and is also the big brother of the pack!

My husband is a constant support in all that I do.

And my parents, especially my father, is the biggest patron of TASHANA!

With the launch of this website, I feel TASHANA has finally arrived to be noticed for its heartfelt efforts towards the care of our community dogs and we hope that we can make that difference by becoming the compassionate link between the life of street dogs and the humans!
