The prettiest of them all... Zoe.

My heart was set on her since she was tiny and demure.... the first one I healed with daily medicines on a little dog bite on her tummy by one of her siblings...

She was always different, a little aloof not interested in the pranks of the others, and would always go and sit away once she had her food.

You can say she was the one with a little chip on her shoulder!

The first to approach my car every evening and get into a fight with the other dogs who tried to come close to me! The only pair of eyes that would follow my car as I drove away every day, and then one day, she wandered off.

On 14th December 2020, she was not there along with the others. After a few days of waiting, we organized searches along with the children of the locality who have been coming daily to help me feed these dogs whom they have seen grow up from small puppies to naughty young dogs!

We searched for weeks in so many places. I have driven through lanes and walked through streets searching for her. I have circulated pamphlets and put-up posters with a monetary promise of finding Zoe.

The posters, now torn on the walls where they were put up, I still drive around on my way back from work sometimes, hoping that our eyes would perhaps meet and I would run to sweep her in my arms and bring her home, never to let her go again...

But I am still waiting since that day of December 2020, my eyes still searching for her, waiting for her to return while my heart still aches for her...

Till then I believe in my prayers and hope that she stays well, safe, happy & protected wherever she is.
